Luxor African film Festival launches its call for entries for its eighth edition. The Egyptian actor Mahmoud Hemida is appointed honorary president and Tunisia as guest of honor.
LAFF is accpeting applications for particiaption in its different sections held from 10 to 21 March 2019. The festival is accepting films from 15 September to 20 December 2018.
Participating films must be produced in 2018 by African directors, from inside or outside Africa.
Scriptwriter Sayed Fouad, president of the festival, announced that the actor Mahmoud Hemida is the honorary president of LAFF’s 8th Edition (March 2019), for his outstanding contibution to Egyptian and Arab cinema as actor and producer.
Director Azza al-Husseini, LAFF executive director announced that Tunisia will be the guest of honor of this round for its historical interest in African cinema in general, producing films, supporting and presenting new comers to African and non African audience.
Luxor African film Festival is organized by Independent Shabab Foundation (ISF) with the support of the Ministries of Culture, Foreign Affairs, Tourism, Youth and the Ahli Bank of Egypt in cooperation with Luxor governorate and the Syndicate of Cinematography.
